What Is the Meaning of Life?

Why am I alive?

What's the purpose of Life?

  • What do I have my life for?
  •  Why am I alive and spending time here?
  • What is the Life?     What is it for?
  • If I were to pass away now, would anyone notice? Would anyone be sad?   I doubt it.
  • My life feels meaningless 😞
  • Every day is just the same routine…
Work… Weekends… Work… Is this really the life I’m meant to live?
  • Have you ever had these thoughts before?

Have you ever had these thoughts before?

After enrolling a university, I started living in an apartment alone for the first time. Having experienced many things such as traveling by motorcycle and studying abroad in the United States, I had the opportunity to meet people from various countries with diverse cultures. These experiences significantly changed my values, and I was enjoying fulfilling days.

However, when I was alone at home, I began to ponder questions like, “What am I here for…?”, “What is the meaning of life?”, and “Why do I have to keep on living?”

I think it’s normal to ponder such questions during college, isn’t it? Probably yes… haha

In my life, there’s always something I’m consciously aware of and aiming for.

GOAL of my LIFE

"When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced.
Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice."

– Cherokee proverb

I came across this quote during a period of profound grief after my grandmother passed away. Its message profoundly impacted my life, giving me hope and a renewed sense of purpose.

What Does It Mean?

You might have been like, “Huh? What does that mean?”

Everyone interprets things differently, but here’s how I see it:

To live a life where, when it comes to an end, you can smile and those around you will shed tears, I believe the following steps are necessary:

  1. Seek Happiness and Spread Joy
Always prioritize your own happiness and strive to bring smiles and happiness to those you encounter.

  2.  Build Connections:
Forge connections with many people and aim to increase the number of those who would shed tears when your life concludes.

In order to achieve these life goals, what should you do?

To Achieve the Life GOALs

 1.  Always Express “Thank You.”

 2.  Everyone is Different.

 3.  It’s OK to Be Yourself!

1. Always express "Thank You."

“I believe the word “Thank you!” is like a magical phrase that always brings happiness when said.

It’s not just about saying “Thank you” as words, but making sure to look into the eyes of a store clerk, a friend, or anyone who has done something for you, and with a smile, say ‘Thank you!’

Doing this can make both yourself and the other person feel good and happy.

2. Everyone is Different

You might have thought, “Well, isn’t that obvious?” However, are you able to accept and understand people who are different from yourself?

Even things that seem obvious to you may not be done or understood by others. For instance, some people never say “thank you” at all — contrary to 1. Always Express “Thank You”.

Instead of thinking, “That person is terrible!” or “Why can’t they even say thank you?”, it’s important to recognize that this is simply their way of living.

By accepting that way, you can reduce stress and maintain your own happiness.

3. It's OK to be Yourself!

It’s common to feel like you lack any charm or uniqueness when you compare yourself to others’ lives on social media such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

But remember! There are things that only you can do, and your personality and perspectives are unique and special — it’s what sets you apart from others!

Rather than fixating solely on what you lack compared to others, take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate your own strengths and characteristics. This will boos your self-esteem.

Embracing who you are is key to finding happiness and paving the way for a fulfilling life!

Finally

  • People searching for the meaning of life
  • People who don’t understand the meaning of living
  • People going through a tough time right now
  • People feeling overwhelmingly depressed right now
  • People troubled by life

Through this article, I hope that you — including those mentioned above — can find even a small glimpse of the meaning of life or the purpose of your existence.

… Lastly, once again …

"When you were born, you cried and the world rejoiced.
Live your life so that when you die, the world cries and you rejoice."

– Cherokee proverb

💖I hope your life becomes even happier!💖
