Are you currently living in JAPAN and wondering the way to get money to spend on what you want or to save money?

What I recommend is 'poi-katsu', which stands for 'point activities' — a kind of loyalty rewards system.

It involves earning reward points by answering questionnaires in an app. This method is becoming increasingly popular among Japanese people who use these apps to accumulate points that can be redeemed for cash.

Macromill is the best poi-katsu app I have ever used. If your Japanese level is high enough to understand and answer questions, this could be a great way for you to earn extra money!

How much can I accumulate on Macromill app?

If you answer surveys every day, you can earn around 2,000 yen!

teacher 16

In poi-katsu activities, the most important point to consider is how many points you can accumulate.

With Macromill, you can earn approximately 2,000 points = 2,000 yen worth (1 point = 1 yen) in one month! Basically, all you need to do is answer the surveys that are sent to you every day. By spending about 5-10 minutes each day (occasionally longer depending on survey types), you can earn around 2,000 yen.

>> 2. How to accumulate points

Basically, you can earn points by answering surveys. I accumulate approximately 2,000 points (= 2,000 yen) per month just by answering surveys daily, and I exchange them for PayPay points.

Now, let’s take a look at how to accumulate points with Macromill!

> 2.1. Surveys (main method to earn points)

1

The main method to earn points is by responding to surveys that arrive daily through the app. There are 2 types of surveys:

1. Pre-surveys (事前アンケート): By answering these, you can earn around 2-10 points. It typically takes about 5 minutes to complete (usually consisting of around 5 questions).

2. Main surveys (本アンケート): After completing a pre-survey, only those who qualify can respond to the main survey. Points earned can range from 10 to 100, varying considerably. Higher point surveys generally have more questions, taking approximately 5 to 15 minutes to complete.

Pre-surveys (事前アンケート)Main surveys(本アンケート)
Estimated ptApprox.2~10 ptsApprox. 10~100 pts
Time to AnswerApprox. 5 minsApprox. 5~15 mins

Note:
Since surveys arrive multiple times a day, it’s recommended to check periodically, ideally in the morning after waking up and at night before bed.

Additionally, surveys may disappear once the required responses are collected. Sometimes, a survey seen in the morning may no longer be available by night. Therefore, it’s best to respond promptly when you see them.

> 2.2. Interviews and other (miscellaneous)

1

Besides answering surveys, there are also opportunities for online interviews such as Zoom, which can last 1-2 hours, where you can earn between 3,000 to 5,000 points (equivalent to 3,000 yen to 5,000 yen) or more.

Occasionally, you may encounter preliminary surveys asking about your availability to participate, so if you have the time, responding with “I will participate (参加します) ” might lead to joining the interview, but it’s not guaranteed even if you respond with “I will participate (参加します).

In addition to interviews, there are also opportunities to test and review new products, which could earn you between 5,000 and even over 10,000 yen per month in total.

I haven’t had any experience with interviews or reviewing new products yet, but I’ve been earning about 2,000 points per month just from the surveys mentioned above!

>> 3. Advantages

Is Macromill better than other poi-katsu apps?

Macromill lets you accumulate a lot of points!
It’s also great that there are plenty of options for exchanging points!

teacher 16

When engaging in poi-katsu — point activities (ポイ活) — what typically concerns people are “how many points can be accumulated” and “where the accumulated points can be exchanged.”

Let’s take a look at the advantages of Macromill!

> 3.1. Points accumulate easily!

1

By simply responding to two types of surveys — pre-surveys (事前アンケート)  and main surveys (本アンケート) — introduced in 2. How to accumulate pointsyou can accumulate approximately 2,000 points (equal to 2,000 yen) in one month!

I make sure to check three or more times a day — when I wake up, during the day, and at night — and consistently respond to all surveys.

Even if you don’t have much time, I recommend checking at least twice a day, ideally in the morning and at night. This is because there have been instances — surveys were available at night but disappeared by morning, or vice versa — potentially missing opportunities to accumulate points.

Note:
If you only answer a few surveys once a day, you might accumulate around 100 to 500 points per month.

The figure of 2,000 points reflects responding to almost all surveys available.

> 3.2. You can use it in your spare time!

1

Another recommended point is that you can use it in your spare time.

Surveys are sent daily to you through the app, website, etc. Most of the preliminary surveys (事前アンケート) can be completed in under 5 minutes, so you can make good use of short breaks between classes, during work breaks, while commuting on buses or trains, and whenever you have free time!

> 3.3. Plenty of options for redeeming points

1

And the best part is, there are plenty of options for redeeming your points!

Moreover, all of them are free of charge!

You can choose from the following options to redeem your points.

I always exchange for PayPay, which you can use mostly in any shops in Japan. What sets Macromill apart is the wide array of redemption options available for your points!

>> 4. Downsides

How about the downsides of Macromill?

Among my experiences using it, there are three points that I found a bit annoying or troublesome.

> 4.1. It takes time to answer surveys

1

When it comes to responding to surveys, I believe this applies universally.

Preliminary surveys can be completed in a few minutes, but the main surveys can take anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes, which can sometimes be stressful.

> 4.2. Video watching is sometimes compulsory

1

Some main surveys require watching a video and providing feedback on it. Typically, there’s a notice beforehand stating, “This survey includes a video. Please ensure you are in an environment where you can hear the audio,” informing participants about the video content.

However, it can be quite demanding that you can’t proceed to the next step without watching the video to the end, even if the video lasts more than a minute.

As compensation for the time it takes, you typically receive around 50 to 100 points!

> 4.3. E-mails are sent daily

1

Upon registering with Macromill, you will start receiving frequent emails asking you to participate in surveys.

To reduce the volume of emails, I recommend setting them to be delivered in batches or configuring your email settings to prevent them from being placed in your inbox (for example, by marking them as spam or junk email).

>> 5. Conclusion

All in all, Macromill is an excellent point-earning app that allows you to accumulate a lot of points.

While there are downsides such as the time it takes to respond to surveys, if you answer all surveys, you can earn around 2,000 yen worth of points per month. I encourage you to get started today!

Currently, there is a limited-time campaign (until August 31, 2024) where you can earn up to 1,000 points, so be sure to register with Macromill below and start earning points quickly!
